Erin O'Hara engaged Tante, LLC for music preparation for the 1928 classic silent film, "Blackmail," by Alfred Hitchcock.
When Erin O'Hara was commissioned to write an original soundtrack for "Blackmail," she was ready to set about the task, having written music for over 20 films.
However, on second glance, music must be scored for an ensemble for an 80-minute film - to be performed before a live audience. It was a special challenge O'Hara welcomed. Rather than only syncing to film, she must queue a live orchestra throughout the film. She engaged Lexia Christante for music preparation. This meant interpreting recordings both with logic files and by ear, then set down the score using Finale. It was a wonderful success and premiered at the Syracuse International Film Festival in October 2016.
